UPDATE: The Elusive Microwave Cookware

About five months ago, I dove into the history of microwave cooking and how Sears cashed in on the emerging household technology by offering eleven dishes with the Merry Mushrooms decal. Check it out if you'd like. At the time, I hadn't seen proof that these existed.

Low and behold, back in April 2021 someone posted on The Real Merry Mushroom Collector's Facebook page that they had found the muffin pan and baking ring (Bundt pan) for a steal. How lucky! Then, THIS was listed on eBay in mid-May 2021.

I asked my husband how much he thinks it would sell for. He bid $150 and I said $175. We were both wrong. Wow! It would be wonderful to be the one to win but, alas, it's just not in the budget.

In any event, this lot included the muffin pan, baking ring, and the cake pan. It's great to see the tiny single mushroom with greenery decal on the top of the muffin pan, and the larger five mushroom plus greenery version on the side of the other two pans.

Does baking in the microwave really work? Anyone try it?
